Today was my three month anniversary...can you believe it! I can't! So to mark the occassion and celebrate my birthday from the other day, I took a road trip to Queenstown and spent the afternoon there...it was great...my favourite place at the moment is the snow capped mountains. 

The night of the Gore Pressie Ball...Friday 17th July...don't we look gorgeous. We had so much fun!

This is an update for the earlier posted earthquake. Note the change in magnitude. This earthquake was widely felt in the South Island and as far north as Taranaki.

The quake was 6.6 on the richter scale and came from fiordland. We are still getting aftershocks here and it's about 40 minutes ago since I first felt it.

WE JUST HAD AN EARTHQUAKE! That was scary. It's 2132 here and at 2127 the earth started to shake and the house felt like it had a pulse running through it like a wave. It wasn't violent but it definately had the place shaking I have never experienced that before! It was a little surreal seeing the blinds swaying and the candlesticks on the fireplace moving back and forward. It lasted about two minutes. The strangest two minutes I've had in a long time. Oh, here it comes again!

It's been a weekend of firsts...the biggest being learning how to ski. Here Christie, Amy, Fiona and I hit the slopes of the Remarkables for the day. I took a lesson in the afternoon to learn how to actually stay upright on the skis. I haven't mastered the art of staying in control yet but I think I'll get there with practice. 

This unfortunately was my first stack.

ahhh, didn't want to crash into the snow fan so...

down I came. Oh, well. I was better then next attempt :) I promise!

The other first was being in a photo shoot this morning. Long story short but a professional photographer wanted to shoot some lifestyle shots in Queenstown and because we were in Queenstown for the weekend, we were able to coordinate our times. It was a contact of Christie's and he wanted to photograph us jogging in the misty morning. We didn't really know what we really needed to be doing but the photographer seemed happy and wants to photograph us if we are ever back in town. So watch out for me in a magazine somewhere or on a billboard in a city near you! I'll show you a sneak peak when we get a copy of them (if any of them turned out alright!)
